I reached out to see if I could send my classical guitar for a refret with the lowest action possible. Customer service replied, saying it was all good, just send it in. After getting my guitar back and £220 lighter, I checked the frets with my own tools. Now, I’m a musician, not a luthier, but I know a thing or two about frets. Unfortunately, they weren’t as level as I had hoped (I could’ve done a basic job myself). I expressed my disappointment and asked for the frets to be leveled. They picked up the guitar again, and everything was fixed, but there was some attitude from customer service. They initially wrote, "What? Everyone else is super happy with this service," implying there was something wrong with me. When I pointed that out, trying to keep it civil but feeling a bit annoyed at the condescension, I was told I was being rude. So, just a heads up: if you decide to shop here, make sure to keep a big ol' smile on your face and stay cheerful, no matter what happens after you fork over 220 pounds.

For 21 years, Giggear has met all my needs. They have a solid inventory, awesome prices, and the staff consistently goes above and beyond. I wouldn’t even think about hitting the road without getting my guitars prepped by Barrie first! It’s essential!

For years, Giggear has been my favorite spot for all things guitar-related. The staff are super friendly and easy to talk to, but what really stands out is the top-notch advice they provide. Plus, the variety of gear they offer is impressive. If you’re into playing an instrument and are nearby, this is definitely the place to check out.

I picked up a used Strat from GigGear. There were a few small setup issues (which is pretty normal). They not only had it adjusted by their guitar technician and ready for me to grab in less than a day, but they also switched out a set of pickups in my semi-hollow during that time, saving me an extra trip. Incredible.

Additionally, I spotted the same used guitar at another shop, and the super nice manager Rob was cool enough to do a price match for me after the fact. They really went the extra mile, providing top-notch service. I’ll surely be back. Big thanks to the team, especially Rob!

Products are wrongly shown as 'available' when they ain't. I've ordered from Gig Gear twice now, and both times, right after I placed my order, I received an email saying the guitar isn't really in stock and will be shipped from Fender's warehouse in a few weeks.

It's not rocket science to set up an automatic stock system - come on, guys! Advertising something as 'in stock' when it’s not just doesn’t look good.

Charlie was super helpful, taking the time (and showing a lot of patience) to respond to at least 21 queries from a beginner about guitars. He assisted me in selecting an electric guitar along with the right gear, all while keeping it within my beginner budget. Simon reached out to me right after my order arrived and was really nice and friendly when I picked it up.

I can't wait to come back for more products and support.

I just wanna give a huge shoutout to Charlie at Gig Gear. He came upstairs with me and showed me the Yamaha guitar I was looking for in the Harlow shop. Charlie hung out with me while I tried out the guitar. He answered tons of questions I had about different things. After that, he assisted me in finding the perfect case and strap for my guitar. I picked Gig Gear because they have an awesome range of guitars, and I was on the hunt for a second Yamaha. It felt great walking into a shop where everyone was so friendly and positive. I placed an order for two products on Monday night. One was available, but the other wasn’t, so they called me up, went over the details, and suggested a few options that worked for both of us. The items showed up today (Friday) just as described and right on schedule. Some bigger companies could really take notes on customer service from this online shop. Definitely giving it 5 stars!

We purchased a violin and have returned multiple times for tuning and guidance. Each time, the staff has been friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. I really can't complain about anything.

I got a violin for my 7-year-old daughter's birthday, following the sales guy's recommendation on size and model. We ended up with a 3/4 size, but it turned out to be too large for her, as her teacher pointed out. She actually needs a 1/2 size, and the advice we received was off. The shop owner offered us a third of what we originally paid for it in its original state, but we didn't go for that. I then took the violin to Derosa Music in Bishops Stortford, and they were super helpful, swapping it for the right size without any cash involved. They had the same brand and it was in better shape than the one we got from that overpriced place, GigGear. I really recommend checking other options because this guy is a total rip-off. It's pretty sad that a business would try to take advantage of a kid's birthday gift! Just a heads up.

On May 15, 2021, I stopped by Giggear to check out a left-handed electric guitar and ended up being shown a pre-owned Ibanez. Rob West and his buddy Alex were super nice and friendly, always ready to help with any questions and guide me through the guitar setup. The service was top-notch, and I got a fantastic guitar at a fair price. Overall, it was a really enjoyable experience, and I’ll surely be back.

I placed an order for an EMG 81 and 85 because the website claimed they’d ship in 2-5 days.

About four days later (to be fair, it was during the Easter weekend), I received an email stating they could source the 85 from the supplier, but the 81 was out of stock and wouldn’t be available for quite a while—possibly several months. They suggested some alternatives, but I decided to go with just the 85 in the end.

I got a quick refund for the 81, and the 85 showed up a few days later.

Overall, not awful service, but the shipping times listed on the site are totally misleading. It feels like they’re tricking customers into thinking out-of-stock items are available just to push alternatives and keep the sales coming.

I was really blown away by the experience I had, so I felt it was important to share my thoughts.

The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and took their time to help me find the perfect instrument at a fair price for my family (Yamaha Piagerro NP12 keyboard).

This isn’t the first time I’ve had a great experience with this company. I previously purchased a Boss Katana Artist mk2 from them, and the support was just as excellent.

The pricing is fantastic, but the assistance I received was truly invaluable. I highly recommend this place.

GigGear offers an extensive variety of options and their assistance is top-notch. The shipping was super fast, and I’d surely suggest them again; they’ve become my favorite music shop!
